The pharmaceutical company Farmak has launched three new prescription medications: one for treating respiratory tract diseases, and others for addressing iron and vitamin D deficiencies.
The first new product is a mucolytic agent in the form of gelatin capsules. It is used to reduce the viscosity of bronchial secretions and facilitate their expulsion in cases of acute and chronic respiratory diseases—such as bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other conditions characterized by the production of viscous sputum.
The company has also introduced a product for treating confirmed vitamin D deficiency in adults, as well as for preventing such deficiency in high-risk patients. This medication comes in the form of gelatin capsules. Vitamin D plays a crucial role in maintaining bone health and normal muscle function, and it supports the absorption of calcium and phosphorus. A prolonged deficiency can lead to reduced bone strength and muscle weakness.
The third medication is designed to treat iron deficiency—a common issue that can lead to anemia and negatively impact a person’s well-being and quality of life. According to estimates by the World Health Organization*, nearly one in three women of reproductive age worldwide suffers from anemia, with iron deficiency being one of the primary causes. This new medication is available as a solution for intravenous administration. It is used in cases where oral iron preparations are ineffective, cannot be used, or when there is a clinical need for intravenous iron replenishment.
Today, Farmak’s product portfolio comprises over 450 medicinal products. Each year, the company launches approximately 20 new drugs.
