Farmak Medicines Are Getting a New Design

Farmak, Ukraine’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, continues to evolve its brand. Following the rebranding and introduction of a new official logo in 2024, medicines featuring the company’s new packaging design are now appearing on the market in 2026.

The new design was developed in collaboration with INCH.Health, a specialized agency, taking into account the needs of patients, pharmacists, and healthcare professionals.

As part of the development process, a series of qualitative and quantitative studies involving different target audiences was conducted to make the packaging as clear as possible and facilitate navigation between medicines. The new design was also usability-tested directly in pharmacy environments. Antithrombotic medicines from Farmak are already available on pharmacy shelves in the new design.

What has changed in the packaging?

1. A consistent and recognizable Farmak visual style

All packaging elements are arranged according to clearly defined rules that create a cohesive visual system for the brand. Each therapeutic area has its own color, represented by a colored panel on the right side of the packaging, helping users quickly identify and navigate between medicines.

2. Additional information to support the correct use of medicines

The packaging now includes brief reminders about the dosing regimen, such as “Once daily” and “With or without food,” as well as information about the patient age group (adults, children, or adults and children).

These changes are designed to help patients follow the treatment regimen prescribed by their physician and make it easier for pharmacists and nurses, who provide patients with daily guidance on the proper use of medicines.

3. Improved navigation for pharmacy staff

For pharmacists’ convenience, colored blocks have been added to the sides of the packaging. This reflects the actual storage conditions in pharmacies, where medicines are often placed sideways on shelves or stored in drawers and identified by their side panels.

4. QR code providing access to the patient information leaflet

Each package features a QR code that provides direct access to the medicine’s patient information leaflet.

The packaging also clearly indicates whether a tablet can be split. Tablets that can be divided are shown with a score line, while tablets that should not be divided are depicted without one.

The rollout of the new Farmak packaging design will take place gradually, as it requires changes to the medicines’ registration documentation. Therefore, during the transition period, pharmacies will carry medicines in both the previous and the new packaging designs.

Farmak’s portfolio includes more than 450 medicines, so the full implementation of the new design system will take at least three years.

The project team believes that the new packaging design system will contribute to greater health literacy among patients, better adherence to prescribed treatment regimens, and a more efficient day-to-day experience for pharmacists and healthcare professionals, who play a key role in the healthcare system.
