On 20 November, the pharmaceutical company Farmak inaugurated its educational and scientific hub at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD), within the Pharmaceutical Materials Science and Nanotechnology Sector of the Educational-Scientific Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology, Chemogenomics, and Biogerontology (ESL MPCHB).
The newly established center aims to support the development of fundamental and applied research in pharmaceutical sciences, physical-organic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. Its main focus areas include the creation of highly soluble polymeric composite systems to enhance the solubility and bioavailability of active pharmaceutical ingredients, as well as the development of innovative materials based on carbon quantum dots and nanofibers for applications in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
The HUB laboratories serve as a platform for experimental research for scientists, master’s students, and PhD candidates from both Farmak and KNUTD departments, fostering ongoing collaboration between academia and industry in the training of scientific and professional personnel for the pharmaceutical sector.
As part of the project, Farmak provided KNUTD with modern laboratory equipment, including a spray dryer, drying oven, spectrophotometer, tablet press, ion chromatograph, charging station, refrigerator, laboratory furniture, and more. The company also financed the renovation and outfitting of the laboratory space. The total support amounted to over UAH 1.1 million.
This initiative demonstrates the effective collaboration between business and science, opening new opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty in the field of modern pharmacy and technology.
