Farmak is leading the rating of marketing organizations by sales of pharmacy basket products in monetary terms following the results of January-June 2018.
The rating is published by Apteka (Pharmacy) weekly with reference to data from Proxima Research company. Farmak’s pharmacy sales for the first half of 2018 total UAH 2.232 billion. The Company’s sales gain in UAH equivalent is 17.4% vs. the same period in 2017.
According to Proxima Research analysts, increase in salaries and, accordingly, in people income, has a positive impact on market development. Overall, for the first half of 2018, the retail pharmaceutical market has demonstrated growth both in monetary and volume terms.
According to analysts, increase in prescription drugs share is a key market trend. Furthermore, the structure of consumption is shifting towards expensive drug products (cost over UAH 100 per package).
Proxima Research anticipates that, subject to the absence of significant influence of external factors, in 2018, the volume of retail sales of medicinal products will be more than UAH 70 billion, with a growth of 18–23% in UAH terms and 1–2.5% in packages.
