Twinning Project Delegation Visits Farmak Production Facilities

As part of the Twinning project, Farmak hosted a delegation that included representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health, and partners from Lithuania. The visit was led by Maryna Slobodnichenko, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine for European Integration.

Twinning is an EU technical assistance project that fosters cooperation between public authorities of Ukraine and EU member states to strengthen national institutions and align Ukrainian legislation, regulations, and governance practices with EU standards.

Currently, Ukraine has launched a new Twinning project aimed at establishing a single state regulatory body in the pharmaceutical sector — the State Control Body (SCB) — operating in full compliance with EU standards. The initiative is implemented in partnership with Lithuania, Poland, and Germany.

During their visit to Farmak’s Kyiv-based production site, the delegation toured the aseptic manufacturing unit, where medicines used in operating rooms, intensive care, and emergency settings are produced. These include:
• drugs for general anesthesia and sedation,
• medications for managing acute postoperative pain,
• treatments to stabilize cardiac function in cases of acute heart failure,
• and agents for preventing and controlling bleeding during surgical procedures.

The guests highly praised Farmak’s state-of-the-art equipment, automation systems, and rigorous adherence to quality standards across all production stages.

The delegation also visited the analytical and chromatographic laboratories of Farmak’s Quality Control Department, where company specialists demonstrated their comprehensive approach to product quality assurance.

Together, we are taking another step toward European integration and strengthening Ukraine’s position in the global pharmaceutical market.

Today, the Farmak Group is a global pharmaceutical enterprise founded in Ukraine in 1925, with manufacturing facilities in Ukraine and Spain, and representative offices in 11 countries. Farmak’s products are exported to over 60 countries worldwide, including 15 EU member states, and are manufactured in accordance with EU GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
