The Zhebrovski Family Charitable Foundation continues its systematic support of healthcare institutions. Last week, a new operating suite was officially opened at the Department of Microsurgery and Reconstructive Surgery of the Upper Limb of the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. With the Foundation’s support, the premises underwent reconstruction and major renovation, and a modern ventilation system was installed. The total amount of assistance exceeded UAH 5.3 million.
The new suite includes a preoperative preparation room, an operating theatre, and auxiliary facilities. The operating room is equipped with a modern supply-and-exhaust ventilation system that purifies the air, maintains controlled pressure, and ensures sterility.
The opening of the new operating suite will double the number of surgical procedures performed in the department, which is critically important in wartime, when the number of trauma patients continues to grow. The new suite will primarily be used for minimally invasive procedures, which involve minimal tissue damage and enable faster patient recovery. In particular, joint arthroscopies will be performed here—advanced procedures that allow for effective treatment of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
The ceremonial opening of the new operating suite took place on the eve of the Christmas holidays. The event was attended by Filya Zhebrovska, Founder of the Zhebrovski Family Charitable Foundation; Stanislava Pleskach, Director of the Zhebrovski Family Charitable Foundation; Yurii Poliachenko, Director of the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics; Serhii Strafun, Head of the Department of Microsurgery and Reconstructive and Restorative Surgery of the Upper Limb; Volodymyr Biliavskyi, Head of the Department of Microsurgery and Reconstructive Surgery of the Upper Limb; and the department’s team. Representatives of the Foundation toured the upgraded facilities and reviewed the results of the completed project.
Supporting healthcare institutions is one of the key areas of activity of the Zhebrovski Family Charitable Foundation. Each year, approximately 150 hospitals across Ukraine receive assistance from the Foundation.
