Volodymyr Kostiuk, CEO of the pharmaceutical company Farmak, has been included in the Top 33 Managers of Ukraine 2025 ranking by the business publication Focus.ua.
“This year’s economic slowdown has posed new challenges for businesses and their top executives. That’s why companies need leaders at the helm who can guide them not only toward new achievements but also safely navigate through crises. When the storm hits — when there are too many challenges all around — one must keep moving forward,” the publication notes.
The ranking was formed through several stages. In the first stage, the editorial board identified the key industries driving Ukraine’s economy and grouped them into 11 sectors: agriculture, finance, industry, energy and oil & gas, IT, retail, food production, real estate, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and telecommunications.
Next, Focus surveyed Ukrainian and international industry experts, HR specialists, economists, and market participants.
Respondents reviewed a long list of candidates compiled by the editorial team and evaluated them based on the following criteria: public visibility, professional achievements, personal reputation, and influence in the market where their company operates. After the surveys were completed, the results were aggregated, and an average score was calculated for each candidate. The final list included those who received the highest overall ratings.
Volodymyr Kostiuk has led Farmak since 2018. Under his leadership, the company has maintained its position as the undisputed leader of Ukraine’s pharmaceutical sector and continues to grow its export potential. Each year, Farmak brings around 20 new medicines to market and invests more than $15 million in research and development.
Others featured in the ranking include Yuriy Kosiuk, Chairman of the Board of MHP; Viktor Ivanchyk, Chairman of the Board of the agro-industrial holding Astarta-Kyiv; Andriy Pyvovarskyi, CEO of the WOG group of companies; and Oleksandr Komarov, President of Kyivstar, among others.
