Foster Grandchildren: Ukraine implements a social project aimed at social involvement of long-livers
Number of long-living persons in the state is an important indicator of social well-being. It is not only an important market of social standards, but also a valuable source of information about past events. According to the State Statistics Committee, 1,438,621 persons over 80 years reside in Ukraine in 2015.
For its 90th Anniversary, Farmak JSC, the leader of Ukrainian pharmaceutical market, launched into operation a new R&D laboratory and technology facility in Kyiv. The full cycle implementation: from development of new medicinal products to the manufacture of laboratory, pilot, and clinical batches in compliance with the GMP requirements will enable Farmak to produce new science-intensive drugs. The facility was in the works for 2 years. The amount of investment is over UAH 100 million.
Representatives of Farmak takes part in the briefing on the first results of Charitable Medical Kit campaign
Farmak JSC took part in the press briefing on Charitable Medical Kit held on 11 June 2015. The event was organized by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and Contribution to Medicine Development International Charitable Fund.
On 3 June, the official delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) visited Farmak. The event was held as a part of 5-day visit of EBRD delegation to Ukraine. 12 members, representing a half of the Bank’s shareholders, were in a delegation. This was the most representative delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ever to visit Ukraine. Anton Usov, Senior External Affairs Advisor, EBRD, says, “Farmak has been a client of EBRD for nearly 10 years and, for that time, the Bank has supported two projects to strengthen Farmak’s role as the national manufacturer of new high quality medicinal products, many of which are now imported. For EBRD, cooperation with Farmak was the first experience of financing the pharmaceutical business in Ukraine. Now, it is evident that experience is a success. Visiting the up-to-date pharmaceutical company, that is developing even in the time when Ukraine faces a complicated situation, was the event of great interest for EBRD shareholders. Moreover, the representatives of EBRD Board of Directors called attention to the management team, mostly consisting of women, that is non-typical practice for Ukraine. The Company’s plans for future and the current financial standing proved to be valuable to EBRD shareholders. Farmak’s marketing strategy, adjusted in connection with changes of the situation in traditional markets and emergence of opportunities in new markets, proved to be of special interest. Farmak is the industry leader with strong corporate governance and transparent financial statements. Undoubtedly, BRD will be interested in further cooperation with Farmak”.
On 20 April 2015, the Management of the European Business Association (ЕВА) decided to admit Farmak pharmaceutical company to ЕВА.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers, regulatory authorities and scientists discussed the readiness of Ukrainian Pharmaceutical Industry for the EU requirements
On 25 November 2014, Farmak pharmaceutical company hosted a joint meeting of the management team of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and the member companies of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Ukraine, with participation of the officials from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the State Administration of Ukraine on Medicinal Products.
Farmak JSC, Ukrainian manufacturer of the medicines and a leader in the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine, took the initiative to organize the Family Olympics in Shostka. The sports event has become one of the highlights of the Town Day celebration held on 3 September 2014.
State Administration of Ukraine on Medicinal Products permitted JSC Farmak to renew production and circulation of medicines
State Administration of Ukraine on Medicinal Products (SAUMP) provided JSC Farmak with a permission to renew production of medicines according to the order №1810 issued on December, 30, 2013. Besides, based on the positive results of additional quality control of JSC Farmak medicines, SAUMP permitted Farmak to resume circulation of its medicinal products.
