During the excursion, the students saw the treatment plants at Farmak manufacturing facilities, found out about the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), methods and materials for medicines manufacturing.
“This project will not only help children gain insight into environmental issues, but also show them a modern business operating according to European norms and standards. Care for the environment has always been and remains in the focus of European companies and, accordingly, Farmak”, said Volodymyr Kostiuk, Acting Executive Director of Farmak JSC, during the excursion.
The Eco School project is in progress. In the nearest time, students will develop their own environmental projects that would improve the lives of their schools, as well the town in general.
ECO SCHOOL is a long-term information and educational project implemented by Farmak JSC in association with the All-Ukrainian Youth Movement ‘Let’s Do It, Ukraine’. An environmental competition of mini-grants will be conducted as part of the project. The best projects aimed at addressing the environmental issues of a particular school will be implemented with the resource support of Farmak JSC.
The pilot project will start in 2018 in Shostka and will last for 8 months. 11 town schools take part in the project. School Eco teams attend unique trainings, where they learn about the principles of environmental thinking and lifestyle, ways to save the planet and natural resources, prepare environmental projects for their schools and thus contribute to the preservation of balance on the Earth.
