Farmak congratulates Shostka on Town Day and holds traditional Run for Your Health online for the first time

The race on the occasion of Shostka Town Day will be held by Farmak remotely. The saved funds will be donated to charity.

This year the format of the sports event Run for Your Health traditionally held by Farmak on Shostka Town Day is changed because of the quarantine restrictions. Those who are interested may run 2 km distance in any convenient place and publish their photos/videos and results on the Facebook page with hashtag #FARMAKRUN2020 from August 31 till September 6. All participants will get a chance to win valuable prizes. The funds planned to be spent on the event organization will be used to equip the Inclusive Resource Center of the Shostka Town Council and the municipal pool of Shostka Municipal Sports and Health Center.

Farmak has been operating in Shostka for over 5 years and every year congratulates the town on its holiday. The Company initially held the event involving only families but subsequently it decided to organize it on a larger scale. Run for Your Health has been held for three consecutive years, and it became a good tradition for both citizens and Farmak employees. Every year more than 100 employees come from Kyiv to run together a short distance promoting healthy lifestyle.

Following the sustainable development goals, the Company not only invests in expansion of its own manufacturing, but also meets all environmental standards and makes every effort to be a reliable partner for local communities development in regions where it operates. Farmak invested EUR 0.5 million in modern treatment facilities in Shostka alone. In 2018 Farmak launched the Eco-School project in Shostka. It has already become all-Ukrainian and has been appreciated by the Ministry of Education and Science and supported by the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Grants were awarded for the implementation of 10 eco-ideas in Shostka schools. Farmak cooperates with higher educational institutions including Shostka Institute of Sumy State University since the Company understands that talented young people are our future.

Farmak takes care of the town improvement. The playground in the entertainment park was built due to the Company’s support. During “The Clean Town” campaign held twice a year the employees clean the green areas around Shostka.

Farmak purchased medical suitcases, simulator for training medical care skills and protective means for Shostka town station of emergency medical care, as well as children’s beds and furniture for Shostka Children’s Hospital. We systematically provide Shostka Central District Hospital with medicines and other necessary means. This year the hospital got lung ventilators and protective means from Farmak to prevent coronavirus spread.

“Comfortable working conditions, decent salary, social guarantees, integration of sustainable development principles to the manufacturing process, and active participation in social initiatives of the town are our philosophy and the basic principles of the Company’s activities. The Company has allocated over UAH 4 million in total for social projects and Shostka improvement over the years. We hope that effective business, government and society interaction will be more fruitful for the town and the country as a whole with every passing year. The Company finances charitable and social projects in the Shostka and provides stable jobs for about 150 citizens. We congratulate the citizens of Shostka on this holiday and wish Shostka prosperity, increase of investment attractiveness and improvement in wealth of both the town and every its citizen”, said Volodymyr Kostiuk, Executive Director of JSC “Farmak”.
