The legislation provides benefits for doctors working in villages and urban-type settlements. According to the law “On improving the availability and quality of medical services in rural areas”, doctors have the right to provide for domestic needs through the following benefits:
– free use of housing with lighting and heating;
– privileges on the payment of land tax, loans, the purchase of vehicles, construction of private housing;
– fr free acquisition of ownership of a land plot within a unit of a member of an agricultural enterprise;
– as well as additional guarantees of wages and working conditions, such as the provision of necessary equipment, special vehicles, the opportunity to improve their professional level.
Under the Affordable Medicine project, 93 outpatient clinics have already been built in rural areas, a large part of which are equipped with housing for staff. Since financing of primary care facilities depends on the number of signed declarations, their administration is interested in attracting professional medical staff who can be reached by patients. Local authorities can additionally motivate doctors by providing official housing, sometimes with the possibility of a gradual redemption, or, at the request of the employee -. A soft loan for the purchase of their own as local authorities offer full or partial payment of utilities.
Employment of doctors with a salary of 12-15 thousand UAH and with housing is now offered in many villages – in the towns of Veselinovo of Mykolayv region, villages Rivne and Velyky Vyskyof the Kirovograd region, provide doctors with 2-bedroom apartments. These are just some examples of opportunities that are greater in different regions of Ukraine.
