On September 4, 2019, at a meeting of the Sub-Committee on Training (STC) of the International Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation System (PIC/ ), a training program on risk management for QRM quality was discussed. The program consists of training materials from the PIA Academy and will be used both for training new GMP inspectors and for further training.
The creation of the PIC/S Academy for GMP inspectors (PIC Inspectorates Academy – PIA) has been ongoing since 2015. The PIA Academy website https://www.picscheme.org contains materials developed by PIC/S and the PIC/S member regulatory authorities (presentations, videos, Expert Circles documents, regulatory documents) related to issues of drug production and distribution, skills inspectors, inspection technician and the like.
The Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation System (PIC/S) has created a powerful information exchange system between its member regulators to coordinate the mutual training of GMP inspectors in the field of drug production inspection (or distribution) and related activities, to maintain mutual confidence and promoting quality inspections.
The Sub-Committee on Training is an integral PIC / S. Such subcommittees regularly organize seminars and expert circles created to discuss problematic issues in the field of production and distribution of medicines with the participation of GMP inspectors from different countries and experts from the European Medical Agency (EMA), the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines (EDQM), and the Children’s Fund of the Organization United Nations (UNICEF), World Health Organization (WHO).
