Farmak brings to the market a new treatment for neuropathic pain – Ohraniya

The pharmaceutical company Farmak has launched a new brand – treatment for neuropathic pain, epilepsy, generalized anxiety disorder, fibromyalgia – Ohraniya. The drug comes in capsules.

The new Farmak product – Ohraniya – contains an active substance pregabalin.

According to the instructions, indications for use are: epilepsy, neuropathic pain in lesions of the peripheral and central nervous system, generalized anxiety disorder, and fibromyalgia. It is sold by prescription only. Thanks to improved molecule, Ohraniya (pregabalin) has more predictable pharmacokinetics, a greater affinity for the target receptors and higher activity.

 Olga Galileyska, Farmak Product Manager: "Pain is one of the most common complaints. However, if doctors are fighting successfully acute pain using modern analgesics and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, the chronic pain is still a challenge. Neuropathic pain issue becomes more urgent for clinicians. Neuropathic pain can cause varying degrees of pain and disability, and result in significant medical and social consequences.

Treatment of pain requires custom solutions for each patient. Availability of such drugs as Meditan (gabapentin) and Ohraniya (pregabalin) will allow doctors and patients to have the best choice for treatment depending on the disease, concomitant diseases, psychosomatic disorders and physical capabilities."

 Ohraniya is available in three dosages – 75 mg, 150 mg, 300 mg, which makes it possible to use the drug in different treatment regimens and ensure better compliance in patients with a need for high doses.
